I had returned a more expensive air cleaner that did not use hepa filters. Since my need for this was to remove odors, as I am a smoker, I found that the filter was needed. I hesitated to buy it because of the fragrance cartridge, which made no sense to me. How can it freshen the air with fragrance and remove odor at the same time? But I felt comfortable buying through QVC because I knew I could return it if I needed to. I was right about the fragrance, but it removed the smoke and all odors, as well as decreased the amount of dust. I am very satisfied with it, and will be buying more for other rooms. The replacement filters are reasonably priced as well, but it also comes with a washable filter (not hepa).
